Supporting Sarah Christensen With the Loss of Her Son

Donation protected
Dear friends, I'm Lori, a friend of Sarah's for many decades, and our oldest children grew up together. With her permission I have created this gofundme to help her during this incredibly hard time.

We have all been heartbroken to learn of the loss of Ezrah, on January 20, 2025. Ezrah's mom, Sarah, is a true blessing to our community. She has always been there for everyone, offering free art classes to the community's most vulnerable, opening up her heart and her home to those with any need. She is the first to respond when anyone is struggling, yet she herself has been a single mom since Ezrah was very young. Mostly on her own she has raised her children, and all of them are beautiful souls like her. Ezrah was a kind and gentle boy and that continued as he grew into a man, showing genuine compassion and kindness for all he met and the world around him.

There is no family I can think of that has been through as much, with Ezrah receiving a heart transplant only a few years ago, and other losses that have affected the family. Sarah has only recently been able to go back to work after caring for her children and working through getting a diagnosis for the needs for her youngest that have required her to be home to care for her daughter. And now she faces the financial costs that go with loss, but all at a time while she lives through the unthinkable, losing her beautiful child. Losing her first-born, the child who made her a parent and brought so much light to her world before her other children joined the family.

At this time, I ask that you open your hearts to give back to Sarah and her children, if you can, just as Sarah and her family have done for all of us at points in our life, and for our community. All funds will be turned over to Sarah as emergency funding. She can then use them to help with a private and personal memorial if she so chooses, and to replace the lost income that is so important for the basics for her and her little one that is still at home.

Please give what you can. Any amount will be appreciated so please know that no gift is too small. And please keep this family in your hearts as they navigate this incredibly difficult and hard time in their lives. Let's give this gentle and kind soul what he would want - the arms of the community wrapped around his mom, taking care of her after she has taken care of so many.
