Sandy’s Haven needs YOUR help!
* Operational Emergency*
LPD Case # 26L7607:
May 20, 2026, while our vehicle was completely stopped at the intersection of 1065 W 200 N in Logan, Utah, a commercial truck owned by Geneva Rock Products and operated by a Geneva Rock Products employee negligently reversed into the front end of our vehicle. The impact caused catastrophic damage, resulting in a total loss of the vehicle. (Geneva Rock Products is owned by Clyde Companies INC)
Happily, there were no personal injuries, BUT what we are learning is that because there were no personal injuries we are basically up a creek without any recourse.
Even though the driver freely admitted it was his fault and received a citation we are unable to get in touch with their insurance after many, many repeated attempts. Phone messages are not returned. Emails are ignored. We could get a lawyer, but there is no guarantee we would be able to recover the legal fees due to no personal injuries.
That truck is the life blood of Sandy’s Haven. It is a Dodge Ram 2500, extended cab, full bed 4-wheel drive. We use it daily to move feed, animals, and equipment. Being without since May 20th means we cannot get hay and have been buying hay pellets that we transport in the car. This is insanely expensive and a waste of resources, but the animals must eat! This extra expense is hurting the rehabilitation side as well. We have several injured and juvenile raptors in house right now that are eating up to 30 large mice a day! Mice can get expensive very quickly! Nor is this isn’t taking into account the many permanent residents at Sandy’s Haven that need specialized diets. We are also unable to move equipment and animals as needed.
Geneva Rock Products (Clyde Companies) to date have refused to take responsibility for any of the following costs:
· Truck replacement
· Storage fee at Spatig Bros Auto in Preston, ID
· Loss of use
Please share and hopefully we can get help!
