Our family is going through the most heartbreaking loss we could ever imagine. Our precious son, Samuel, recently passed away, and our hearts are shattered.

Samuel was medically complex and required full-time care. For many years I was his full-time caregiver through In-Home Support Services so that he could be safely cared for at home surrounded by the people who loved him most. Being his mother and caregiver was one of the greatest honors of my life.

With Samuel’s passing, that income has now stopped immediately, leaving our family suddenly trying to adjust not only to overwhelming grief but also to the loss of a large portion of our household income.

My husband is now the only income for our family. We are doing our best to navigate everyday expenses while grieving the loss of our son and trying to provide stability for our twin daughters.

Our family still has normal monthly expenses including housing, utilities, food, clothing, school needs for the girls, and other household bills. At the same time, I am trying to build a path forward for our family by starting a small home bakery business. This will allow me to eventually work from home while still being present for my children, but getting started requires licensing, permits, and purchasing basic supplies and equipment.

Right now we are simply trying to get through this season while rebuilding our lives after losing Samuel.
