Supporting Samantha through her Breast Cancer Journey

Hello, my name is Kaitlyn and I'm starting this fundraiser to help and support my sister in-law Samantha through her breast cancer journey.

Sam was diagnosed with breast cancer last fall, shortly after she married the love of her life, my brother Kyle. The news was a shock to everyone, but Sam has remained resilient and her and her family are determined to get through this difficult chapter.

She initially had a lumpectomy in November to remove the tumor, but when it was found that not all of it had been removed, she underwent a mastectomy in February. That surgery also revealed the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes - so now, we’re fighting even harder.

Sam is currently going through chemotherapy and has completed 3 of 6 rounds. In March, she began hormone therapy, which has caused medical menopause—an especially tough challenge at just 33 years old. After chemo, she’ll begin radiation treatment, followed by several years of continued hormone therapy with regular injections and daily medication.

Needless to say, Sam is a total champion and one tough lady.

Aside from the medical details, Sam is genuinely a wonderful woman. She loves her family, she loves animals, and she has a great sense of humor. But above all, she has remained so strong throughout these last 8 months since her diagnosis.

I know that she can overcome this hurdle in life. I also know that having the financial weight lifted off of her shoulders would help her and her family breathe a little easier. The donations will go toward the cost of her medications, and will help with monthly expenses while she is not working.
