On July 3, our dear friend Russell James was seriously injured while doing what so many of us have seen him do for years—looking out for others.
While working at the Landfall fireworks celebration, Russell stepped in to break up an altercation involving underage drinkers. In the process, he was unexpectedly attacked and suffered significant injuries. He is now facing a difficult recovery that includes a black eye, vision impairment, a concussion, and other physical injuries that will require ongoing medical care and treatment.
Russell has been a steadfast presence in our community for many years. Time and again, he has worked to keep our neighborhoods safe, looked out for all of us, and been there whenever someone needed help. Now, he needs our help.
As Russell focuses on healing, medical expenses and other recovery-related costs continue to grow. We are asking friends, neighbors, and anyone whose life has been touched by Russell's kindness, service, and dedication to contribute whatever they can.
No donation is too small, and every contribution will help ease the financial burden during what is sure to be a long recovery journey. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser with others.
Thank you for supporting Russell and showing him the same care and compassion that he has shown our community for so many years.
