Abun Tekle Haymanot was highly revered Ethiopian saint, monk, and hermit., known for founding a major monastery and being one of the only Ethiopian saints celebrated both within Ethiopia an outside the country. His name means plant of faith.

Hello, my name is Sinidu Shimels and I’m reaching out on behalf of the rural farming community of Odda Bultum district in West Hararghe, Ethiopia. We are raising funds to complete the construction of our long-awaited Orthodox church, Abune Teklehi­manot, and we need your help.

• No Place to Worship at Home: Right now, families must travel two hours each way just to attend services, baptize their children, or lay loved ones to rest.

• Lack of Basic Infrastructure: Our community has no paved roads, no clean water supply, and no electricity—making every step of construction and daily life a struggle.

• Cultural & Spiritual Impact: Without a church, we cannot fully observe important rites of passage or gather together in faith and fellowship.
