Supporting Roger Leech & Family
Donation protected
The ongoing medical complications continues in the Leech Family. Roger was hospitalized at the end of March/ beginning of April for 11 days for a wound that became infected on the back of his heel. After he was released from the hospital, they started him on IV antibiotics at home as well as Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy to help with the healing of his wounds- these treatments were in addition to several doctors appointments and antibiotic infusions (which is due to his body not making antibodies).
Despite all the efforts to heal the wound on his heel, he will need to have his leg amputated below the knee. This procedure will require a long recovery process including hospitalization, wheel chair usage, and an extended amount of time at Mary Free Bed.
When it comes to bringing Roger back home after Mary Free Bed- it will quickly become a challenging space full of new obstacles. The Leech Family is in the process of looking into what will need to happen to make their home accessible for Roger.
During this time, Nichole has been out of work to care for Roger and run him to daily appointments. The funds raised will help go towards medical bills and the adaptions necessary for their home.
