As many of you may know, Robin Shipp’s husband, Brian, has been recently struggling with health issues. Her three sisters, Diane, Donna and Linda have created this fundraiser in support of Robin and Brian.
Two years ago (February 2024), our family walked through a very difficult time when our sister Robin’s husband, Brian, was diagnosed with cancer. He had a very rare, very aggressive cancer called Burkitt Lymphoma. During that time, he had 52 doses of chemo over two months. What started as a normal life filled with work, family, and plans for the future had suddenly turned into doctor visits, treatments, and an uncertain road ahead. We were so grateful when in September 2024, he went into remission and was pronounced cancer free.
Unfortunately, we have recently received heartbreaking news — Brian’s cancer has returned. He relapsed on February 9 when it was discovered that, while the chances of his cancer occurring again was only 10 to 15%, he now has an even rarer form of cancer (Refractory Relapse Burkitt Lymphoma) which called for an immediate, more aggressive treatment plan. He has begun the treatment, which is already taking a huge toll on Brian physically, and both Brian and Robin emotionally. It has yet to be determined how long he will need treatment but the current prognosis is approximately five months. Part of his treatment will include a bone marrow transplant once he goes into remission again. As you may know, a bone marrow transplant is not only very painful but very costly. This new diagnosis means more doctor visits, more treatments, and more time away from work.
Under his current treatment, Brian has been limited in his work. Unfortunately, with the recent government shutdown, Robin’s contract work has been almost nonexistent. To offset that income, Robin has been substitute teaching for schools in her local community. With Brian‘s new cancer diagnosis, she cannot be around children in fear that she might bring any type of illness home to him which could compromise his system. Therefore, she had to discontinue her teaching last week.
As many people know, cancer doesn’t just affect someone physically—it also brings emotional and financial challenges. Along with the emotional weight of fighting cancer again, the financial burden of medical bills, treatments, and everyday living expenses are overwhelming. We are starting this GoFundMe in hope we can lift some of that burden.
Brian is a loving husband and a devoted father and family man who means the world to all of us. Anyone who knows Brian knows his quiet strength and kindness. Brian is loved by so many and would do anything for anyone.
If you can give, any donation—no matter the size—will help support Robin and Brian. If you are not able to give financially, we completely understand. Sharing this page and keeping Brian in your prayers would mean more to us than words can express.
We are trusting that God will walk beside Brian during every step of this journey, and we are grateful for every person who stands with us in faith, love, and support of any kind.
Our family truly believes that with the support of friends, family, and community, Robin and Brian will not face this fight alone. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your love, prayers, and generosity.
Funds receive through this account will go directly to Brian and Robin.
