Many of you have reached out asking how you can help our friend Robert during this difficult time, and this GoFundMe was created as the best and most meaningful way to do so.

Robert is facing back surgery (to recover from his spinal stroke) that will take him out of work for a while, followed by a months-long recovery (at least 8 weeks). During this time, everyday expenses don’t stop—monthly bills, household costs, and the normal responsibilities of life continue, even when someone is forced to slow down physically.

If you know Robert, you know this is not something he asked for—or even wanted. In fact, Robert would much rather quietly get by on his own with the support of his loving wife than ask for help. He has never been one to seek attention or financial assistance, and he certainly didn’t want to host another fundraiser or party. But as his friends, we know that sometimes getting through tough seasons is easier “with a little help from your friends.”

What many may not realize is just how much Robert has given back to this community. Known to many as DJ Wax, Robert was recently nominated and selected as the Ocean City Chamber of Commerce’s “Citizen of the Year.” This honor speaks volumes about the kind of person he is—someone who shows up, gives his time, supports others, and contributes positively to the community without expecting anything in return.

This fundraiser exists because his friends want to help him the same way he has helped so many others over the years. If you’ve ever worked with Robert, danced to his music, laughed with him, or simply appreciated his kindness, this is a way to show your support during a time when he truly needs it.
