For over 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of calling Rob one of my closest friends.

If you know Rob, you already know the kind of man he is: thoughtful, loyal, hardworking, and endlessly caring. He’s the friend who shows up without being asked, the one who gives more than he ever takes, and above all, a true superhero to his wife, Kate. Their love and partnership is something everyone around them deeply admires.

Right now, Rob is facing the toughest battle of his life.

Rob is currently undergoing treatment for cancer at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. His treatment and hospitalisation mean he is unable to work while he focuses on what matters most—his health, his recovery, and his fight for survival. Rob is only 36 years old, and has already beaten cancer twice - but this time the cancer has spread to his pancreas and bowels which is making it really hard for Rob to fight it.

The road ahead involves intensive treatment, recovery time, and immense physical and emotional strength.

Kate his wife also works taking care of people everyday in her job, but one wage just isn’t enough to cover it all alongside being there for Rob in every moment she can.

During this time, the financial strain on Rob and Kate is significant. With Rob unable to work, everyday expenses, medical costs, and the uncertainty of what lies ahead have become an added burden on top of an already overwhelming situation. After exhausting all of his annual leave and sick leave there aren’t any other options left to help support Rob and Kate.

This is where we hope to help.

We’ve created this GoFundMe to support Rob and Kate during this incredibly difficult chapter—so they can focus on healing, strength, and hope, rather than financial stress. Every donation, no matter the amount, will go toward supporting them through treatment, recovery, and the journey back to a life they can once again fully enjoy together.
