Supporting Rob Through Cancer
Donation protected
Imagine one day you wake up and your whole life is turned upside down. Your normal week is working hard to provide for your family investing 10-12 hours per day in the trade that built your life. Then, one day you just don’t feel right. Your doctor delivers the staggering news, “Very sorry, you have cancer.” Your normal life is now completely on hold and every calorie you expend for the next 3-6 months will be in a fight for your very life. In July of this year our brother-in-law Rob was diagnosed with Acute Myloid Leukemia, a cancer of the blood and bone marrow.
Rob has had two grueling rounds of chemotherapy so far, and will start round three this week. Each round means a full month of hospitalization. A bone marrow transplant is scheduled for November. Rob will undergo 8 straight days of chemotherapy, followed by radiation. After this grueling treatment, Rob will require 24-hour care and he must remain within 15 minutes of the hospital.
Rob was the sole financial supporter, and as a contractor, not covered by medical insurance. Mortgage payments, household expenses, medications, travel expenses to and from the hospital have depleted their savings.
Rob should be focusing on the difficult fight ahead of him, instead, Rob and Coral worry about how to cover their growing debt.
We have started this Go Fund Me to support Rob through the challenges he and Coral are now experiencing and the difficulties they are going to face in the new year. Any donation you are able to make is greatly appreciated. If you are unable to donate, please share this fundraiser so that it can reach as many people as possible.
