Dear Community,
I am reaching out on behalf of someone very dear to me, Ro, and her son J, during a deeply tender and challenging time in their lives. Over the past year, Ro made the selfless decision to move in with her mother to care for her as her health declined. In her mother’s final month, Ro became her full-time caregiver, stepping away from work to ensure her mother could be supported with love, dignity, and comfort during at-home hospice care.
Recently, Ro’s mother passed. While they are now navigating the emotional weight of this loss, Ro and J are also facing an urgent and unexpected reality. Because the housing was tied to her mother’s senior living arrangement, they are no longer able to remain there and are now on the verge of losing their home. In the midst of grief, they are being asked to quickly rebuild.
We are raising funds to help Ro and J secure safe and stable housing, cover funeral and end-of-life expenses, support essential living costs during this transition, and allow Ro the space to return to work and regain stability.
Ro gave everything she had to care for her mother in her final days. Her strength, love, and devotion as a caregiver have been nothing short of extraordinary. Now, it is our turn to hold her and J. To surround them with the same care, compassion, and support that Ro so freely gave.
No contribution is too small. If you are unable to give, sharing this page with your community would mean just as much. Thank you for holding Ro and J in your hearts during this time. May we be the bridge that carries them from this moment of loss into one of stability, support, and renewed possibility.
With gratitude,
Lauren
