On July 15, Riley’s life changed forever when she and her 2 year old son Jace was involved in a catastrophic car accident in Wentzville. Her vehicle was T-boned at 70 mph on the driver’s side, resulting in life-threatening injuries. By the Grace of God Jace was not injured . The severity of her condition required doctors to perform an emergency C-section, but heartbreakingly, her baby boy, Noah, did not survive. Riley is now fighting for her life in a medically induced coma, facing a long and difficult road to recovery.
Riley’s injuries are extensive and severe. She underwent emergency surgery where doctors had to open her chest and go through her heart to stop the bleeding. Her injuries include a lacerated liver and hepatic artery, a brain hemorrhage, a fractured pelvis with a hematoma, a fractured leg, and multiple facial fractures and loose teeth. Riley was opened from her neck to her groin, requiring a sternotomy to reach her heart, as well as a full abdominal procedure. The emotional toll on Riley’s family is immeasurable, and they are doing everything they can to support her through this unimaginable tragedy.
Riley will require extensive medical care, surgeries, rehabilitation, and long-term support. Every dollar raised will go directly toward Riley’s hospital and medical bills, long-term rehabilitation, and recovery.
