Hi everyone,

I’m creating this GoFundMe to support my dear friend and colleague, Reyes, a registered nurse in the float pool department. Reyes worked across many units in our hospital, and anyone who had the chance to work with him knows the kind of person he is—patient, selfless, funny, and always willing to help. He got along with everyone, made tough shifts a little lighter, and was loved by so many people.

Reyes has been fighting brain cancer since 2018. In June 2025, he learned that his cancer had progressed to stage 4. His condition has since worsened, and he is currently in critical condition and unable to make medical decisions for himself.

By his side through every step has been his girlfriend of 15 years, Lauren. She has been incredible—unwavering in her care and advocacy for Reyes. Lauren is currently his medical decision-maker and has been supporting him with so much strength and love during this difficult time.

Earlier this year, Reyes experienced a lapse in insurance coverage related to his employment. While they have since secured a new health insurance plan, the cost of coverage and ongoing medical and care-related expenses have created a financial burden on top of everything else. These funds will go directly to Lauren to help cover medical bills, care-related expenses, insurance costs, and to provide stability as she focuses on being there for Reyes.

Reyes has always put others first and never asked for help, but now he truly needs it. Any contribution, no matter the amount, is deeply appreciated. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page means just as much.
