My name is Remi, a resident of Orlando, Florida. At 24 years old, my journey has been one of courage, resilience, and self-discovery. A decade ago, my family and I sought refuge in the United States, seeking safety and the prospect of a brighter future. However, financial constraints have cast a shadow over my aspirations, making it an uphill battle to embrace my true identity.

From the moment I arrived, I've carried the weight of my identity alongside the dreams my family sacrificed for. Despite the challenges, I took the brave step and came out as gay a few years after our arrival. It was a difficult journey, as I grappled with the fear of disappointing my parents, who had sacrificed so much for us to start anew. Today, while the road is still challenging, I stand determined to embark on a new chapter: one that aligns with my authentic self and allows me to live as the person I've always known I am.

As I stand at the crossroads of self-discovery and transitioning, I am asking for your generous support. I am raising funds to facilitate my medical transition and usher in the life I've always envisioned.

Despite the challenges, I have secured a full-time position with healthcare benefits, an essential step toward my aspirations. This coverage has the potential to ease the financial burden of gender-affirming surgeries, but unfortunately, not all aspects of my transition are covered. Only specific procedures/surgeries are included in my plan.
