Supporting Rafal Brykla

If you ever met Raf, even for just a moment, you will never forget him. Truly one of a kind. His vibrant spirit, hard work ethic, dark sense of humor, and his incredibly giving and kind heart are just a few of his amazing traits. There are countless occasions that he would drop whatever he was doing to help anyone in need and be there to help within minutes. He would give the shirt off his back to family, friend, coworker, or stranger.

The title of "Host With The Most" is undoubtably an understatement. There were so many events always taking place at Raf's from birthday parties to work functions. There was never any expense spared, Raf was the BBQ master and always made sure there was enough food for everyone to feast on and bottomless drinks too. We always made jokes about having "Drinks on his deck" with his deep polish accent.

Raf always looked forward to spending time with his beautiful daughter Asia, she was the light of his life and he always made sure that everything was perfect for her. He was the most loving and supportive spouse to his lovely lady Opal (aka Cookie). He encouraged her to follow her dreams and go back to school while he took care of their cost of living.

Last fall Raf was out riding his Kawasaki Racing Bike when he was hit by a car (the people who hit him had no insurance) and he suffered extreme damage to his leg (it was almost amputated). However, Raf refused to let that happen as he built his company up from the ground after moving here from Poland. The next several months he endured many painful surgeries and was completely bedridden. He went in for another surgery last week, and unfortunately his body can no longer handle the trauma and his organs are shutting down. He passed away around noon on July 15, 2024.

Opal has been by his side alone as all of their family and friends are in different part of the country and Europe. She is dealing with loosing the love of her life, preparing for a funeral, and trying to find a way to get through the financial burden. Raf has been off work for just under a year, so they have burned through their savings to stay a float. Raf was taking care of the finances as he wants Opal to finish her schooling and she is panicked with trying to deal with all this on top of not knowing how to pay the rent, bills, and funeral costs.
