Can you help us to get at least one positive outcome from the pandemic?
I think it is safe to say that 2020/21 has been a tough year for everyone. As Year 11 students, we would definitely say that what has happened this year has not been ideal. Our year group has had to endure months of uncertainty and at times loneliness due to a lack of time at school and with our friends. And now we are faced with yet another period of uncertainty and no time to raise funds in school. The impact on our mental health and been enormous and with no real end in sight we have nothing to look forward to.
On behalf of the rest of Year 11, I can say that it would really mean a lot to us if we could have a prom this year. It would allow us to leave school with happy memories and give us something to look forward to during what is going to be another tough few months of home learning, isolation, last minute testing, and virtual college tours.
To ensure that we can plan ahead we need to make it as COVID-safe as possible, so we have secured a Teepee with open sides, but there is a cost attached to this, and we wish to ensure that everyone has the option to attend without any financial strain to families who have been hit by the pandemic.
We would normally have raised the money ourselves but due to Covid restrictions we need to ask for your help.
Can you donate a small amount to our fundraising or do you know a Business that would like to make a donation? If you are unable to help financially, could you please share this with friends and family.
Once again, it would really mean a lot to us all if we could have an amazing prom to end Year 11, and any help you could give would make all the difference to our overall mental wellbeing.
