Hello –

As many of you know my father Perry was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s earlier in 2020, at the young age of 55. It’s been quite a hard year as we’ve begun thinking about the next steps and learning to cope with this terrible disease.

For all of you that know Perry – you know the kind, sweet, loving man who puts a smile on everyone’s face when he comes into the room. A man who puts everyone else above himself.

Then, in late January our world came crashing down again as Perry’s Father, my grandfather, Richard Grayson Drewry, known to everyone as “Dick”, was murdered in cold blood. Found dead in his car on his own property up in Humboldt County– the police still have no leads at this time.

Dick had no enemies – like father like son. He was beloved in his community and by his family. He had been helping to support my Dad over the last year and had been married to my grandmother for 62 years, who is battling her own health issues.

Our family has been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support from people reaching out to ask what they can do to help. For many of you that know me, I’m a very proud individual and receiving help and asking for it really isn’t in my nature. I like to believe that I can and should do things on my own. In this instance, I can’t.

We are opening the Go Fund me for people who would like to help ease a bit of the burden of the financial costs that are piling up in providing the treatment and care that my father needs.
