On Wednesday, December 24th, while getting ready to celebrate Christmas, our 5-year-old nephew Pauly was taken to the ER due to severe pain in his head. After performing a CT, the Drs discovered the unimaginable: a large tumor had developed on Pauly’s brain, causing extreme pressure and hindering adequate flow of fluid from draining out of his brain. He was quickly transported to Wolfson Children’s Hospital where it was determined the best course of action was to schedule surgery to remove the tumor immediately.

After 9 hours of surgery and a follow-up MRI, the Drs confirmed that they successfully removed 100% of the brain tumor. A final biopsy on the removed tumor will determine what exactly it was and what further treatment looks like for Pauly. He has a long road ahead of him for recovery; additional scans, pain management, and rehabilitation.

Our family is creating this GoFundMe on their behalf as they begin to navigate these tough times and focus on Pauly’s recovery. Pauly is such a bright, funny, caring boy who is loved by so many. With the unexpected medical bills from his surgery, additional bills to come with his recovery, and his father being away from work during this time, any support is greatly appreciated and will help their family tremendously.
