Conserving Pantanal Ecosystem

Hi! As many of you know, my son goes from being an awesome kid to a fabulous teen this year. He would love to raise some funds to support his passion for nature and wildlife. We are very excited to support him, and humbly request you to donate towards his cause instead of a birthday gift. We made a lovely trip to the Pantanal this past December, and saw first-hand the widespread destruction caused from forest fires.

Forest fires in the Pantanal are extremely hard to extinguish. Local conservationists, guides and lodge owners have been trying different techniques over the years, but none have been completely effective due to the complex logistics and difficulty of getting to the areas where fires are blazing. They are now focusing their attention towards protecting smaller areas along the riverbanks, using human power and their boats. Their goal is to attach high pressure water pumps to boats and use water from the river to protect 100 meters of the riverbanks. These 100 meters can provide a safe haven to a lot of living creatures like mammals, amphibians, reptiles and birds. Some of the animals we saw during our visit were Jaguars, Capybaras, Tapirs, Giant River Otters, Caimans and hundreds of birds. Please help us accomplish our goal of delivering these fire pumps to Mr. Lara of Pantanal Jaguar Camp. Mr. Lara has dedicated 20 years towards his passion of protecting the Pantanal for future generations and we would like to help him achieve his goal in whatever way we can. Ideally, they need two of the Waterax Mark-3 portable water pumps before the start of the fire season (June 2024).
