Hope Through Horses: Support Healing Through Equine Connection
**Please note**: This GoFundMe link is for **private sharing only** and not intended for public social media posts. The sensitive nature of our work, especially with children in care and trauma recovery, requires that we maintain a discreet and protected space for our sessions. At The Therapeutic Tutors CIC, our real tutors aren’t people, they’re horses. Once stars of the racetrack and show ring, they now dedicate their lives to helping others. These gentle, intuitive animals offer a calming and non-judgmental presence to people navigating complex emotional challenges.
From children in foster care and those struggling in school, to adults recovering from trauma, our herd provides something unique: a safe space for building trust, self-awareness, and emotional resilience, or 'authentic endurance' as we like to call resilience.
Why We're Fundraising
Sustaining a therapeutic herd involves high ongoing costs. Every contribution helps us care for our horses so they can continue supporting others. Without financial support, equine-assisted services risk becoming exclusive due to the significant overheads involved. To offer sessions at affordable rates, or fully funded for those most in need, we rely on the generosity of donors like you.
We’re currently raising funds for a critical project we call:
Hope Through Horses - a family centred approach
For children in foster care and previously looked after children, the early days in a new home can be filled with fear, uncertainty, and grief. While carers offer love and safety, they are navigating unfamiliar and complex dynamics to manage the impact of trauma-driven behaviours. Misunderstandings can lead to emotional disconnection - even family (you may hear the term 'placement') breakdown.
This project bridges that gap. It supports both children and their carers through Equine Facilitated Learning and trauma-informed guidance from an Equine Practitioner who is also supported through clinical supervision.
Your donation will help us:
* Provide tailored equine sessions for foster and adoptive families
* Offer professional supervision for our dual-qualified practitioners
* Create therapeutic photobooks for families to reflect on their healing journey
* Ensure all sessions are delivered ethically, safely, and responsibly
Our Commitment to Trauma-Informed Practice
We work with children and adults who are often navigating high levels of distress, shaped by experiences of loss, abuse, neurodivergence, and disrupted attachments. Many of the children and families we support have experienced significant changes in their lives, often linked to family court decisions or protective measures, have had to relocate for their safety, or face complex emotional landscapes.
This is why privacy, consistency, and compassion are at the heart of everything we do. Our practitioners are professionally trained, supervised, and passionate about creating a space where people feel seen, heard, and safe.
