For those of you who do not know, last Tuesday (9/9), Our dad suffered a major stroke on the left side of his brain. Heartbreakingly, he has not shown any signs of activity, and doctors do not expect him to recover from this. He has suffered severe damage. Within the next week, Dad will be moved into a hospice care facility so he can spend the rest of his days in peace and comfort.
At the same time, our mom has been fighting her own battle. Mom has spent most of this year inside the hospital. They decided to start over in a new to them home after moving from the home they shared for 38 years and raised their 6 kids in. This was a huge change for them but they were ready to take it on together and spend the rest of their days together there. Two days after they moved in, Mom found herself back in the hospital and this time it was going to be until she received a donor heart. it’s really been a rough year.. She underwent a heart transplant in May, but her body has been rejecting the new heart since. Currently, mom is back in the hospital and she’s..tired. But I know she’s not done yet, we’ll continue to encourage her to fight and be strong.
Our parents have always been amazing people to everyone they’ve met—kind, loving, and giving. Now, they both need us more than ever, and the truth is we cannot do this on our own. Along with the emotional toll, they are facing medical bills, living expenses, and most importantly the cost of hospice care. We want to bring Dad to a hospice center close by, where we can be with him, instead of one that’s hours away from his children. We want to keep him as close to mom and us as possible.
We are humbly asking for support to help cover these expenses and give both of our parents the dignity and care they deserve. Any contribution—big or small—means the world to us and will go directly toward their care. If you are unable to give financially, please consider sharing this page and keeping our family in your prayers.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
