Supporting our neighbor Papa Kante & his children

At around two in the morning of November 19th 2021, a fire started in the Harlem apartment building where Papa Kente lived with his wife Adianatou-Nene Korouma, their four year old daughter and newborn son. Papa Kente was at work, so Nene tried to escape alone with the children through the smoke-filled hallway, succumbed to the fumes and lost her life.

 

As Papa and Nene's neighbors, we're starting a fundraiser for Papa, his daughter who remains in the hospital burned and in critical condition, and his newborn son who miraculously survived.

 

The money will be deposited directly to Papa's bank account and used for

-Funeral expenses for Nene

-Health expenses for their daughter

-Childcare

-To provide for the family while Papa takes the time off from work to care for them and heal.
