Last week, our world was turned upside down when our mom was rushed to the ER. Since then, she has been sedated while doctors perform a battery of critical tests and procedures, including MRIs, echocardiograms, and surgery.

We are still in the waiting game and don’t yet know how long her road to recovery will be.

Nate and I inherited our mom’s stubbornness—we are used to handling things on our own and hate asking for help. However, the reality of the situation is setting in. Between mounting medical bills, essential moving expenses, and the cost of gas and hotels to stay by her side, the financial strain is becoming overwhelming.
