Dear Friends and Community,

We are reaching out to you today with heavy hearts and a profound sense of urgency. Our dear friend and co-worker, Keerthi is facing an unimaginable tragedy. Just four months after the heartbreaking loss of his beloved mother-in-law, his father-in-law, visiting from Sri Lanka, unexpectedly passed away while here in Canada.

Dunil Ambawelage had come to Canada to spend time with his Daughter, Keerthi and Grandchildren, seeking solace and comfort after the loss of his wife, Lalitha Wichramaarchchi However, fate had other plans, and he suddenly fell ill, requiring hospitalization, and tragically, he passed away soon after.

Adding to the family’s grief is the overwhelming financial burden they now face. Dunil Ambawelage was not insured during his visit to Canada, leaving the family responsible for the mounting medical bills and funeral costs.

As friends and colleagues, we want to offer our support and love during this incredibly difficult time. We cannot erase the pain of their loss, but we can ease the financial burden that accompanies it. Therefore, we are launching this GoFundMe campaign to raise funds to help cover the medical expenses and funeral costs for Keerthi’s father-in-law.
