Supporting our friend, Stan
Donation protected
Stan Kawamata is undergoing difficult treatment for stage 4 thyroid cancer and we wish to support the family during this stressful time. We all know that Stan has been an active member and volunteer with so many community organizations and causes, including the Boy Scouts, Eco-Sangha and Earth Day, Wednesday Volunteer Group, landscaping volunteer, and many other purposeful activities. He has selflessly given his unlimited support, always working diligently and quietly. He is our friend.
It has been a long road for Stan and Harriet. His cancer was first diagnosed in 2018 followed by two surgeries in 2019 and radioactive iodine treatment. Hoping the treatments were successful, in July and August of 2021, an MRI and PET scan revealed metastatic stage 4 thyroid cancer and a spot on his lung. The doctor determined another surgery was not viable and the decision was made to focus treatment on the tumor at the thyroid and left clavicle area. He has recently undergone radiation and hyperthermia treatments as well as aspiration of the tumor to reduce its size. Stan continues to stay positive and focused on his healing.
We feel it’s now our turn to show our appreciation to Stan and Harriet and to help them through the many challenges that come with a serious illness. Medical treatments, alternative therapies to alleviate pain, and transportation needs are some immediate concerns.
Join us to thank Stan and support him and Harriet through this difficult time. These funds will allow the family to focus their energies on the care and best treatments for Stan as he fights this difficult disease. He has always been there for us and now we can be there for them. Please help us spread the word by sharing this page.
With so much gratitude,
