Supporting Our Father Richard in His ALS Journey

We are reaching out to you today with heavy hearts and a deep sense of urgency. My beloved father, Richard, has recently been diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), a progressive neurodegenerative disease. We are starting this GoFundMe campaign to rally support and help him in his battle against this devastating condition.

Richard is a remarkable man who loves adventure! Some of his favorite activities include scuba diving, bike riding and anything with a little bit of danger. He hopes to one day skydive or go in a cage with sharks haha. I love my dad not only because he’s the coolest guy ever but because he has taught me how to become a hard worker and value knowledge! I wouldn’t be me without him. He’s always been my best friend. 

Despite our best efforts, the financial burden imposed by ALS has been overwhelming. Insurance limitations have left us struggling to cover essential expenses not covered due to complicated insurance formalities. The costs of hospital beds, physical therapy appointments, and vital medications are exorbitant, yet absolutely necessary for his survival and well-being.

One particular medication, priced at an astonishing $16,000, has shown potential to significantly slow down the progression of the disease. This treatment represents a beacon of hope for our father and our family, but the cost is far beyond our means alone.

We are reaching out to our friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers in the hope that you can help us raise the funds needed to provide our father with the best care and access to life-saving treatments.
