We are reaching out to our community during a time we never anticipated facing. Our lives were turned upside down when I suffered a sudden heart attack. While we are grateful that I am here today, the road ahead is going to require time, rest, and careful healing.

Because cardiac recovery is an intense process, I am unable to lift heavy objects, manage the daily household routine, or look after our two daughters, Josephine and Amelia, on my own right now. To ensure I can heal safely and our girls stay supported, my husband, Lloyd, needs to step away from his job for at least a month, and likely longer, to become our full-time caregiver.

While we are focusing all our emotional energy on my physical recovery, the reality of losing Lloyd's income for the next several weeks is a heavy financial burden. Our household needs to keep our family afloat for the month (or longer) are ~ $6,600, which covers our basic living expenses including our housing, utilities, groceries, Amelia’s school cost and unexpected medical costs while he is off work.

We are launching this GoFundMe with a goal of $6,600 to directly replace his lost wages for the next month or more. This will allow Lloyd to focus entirely on keeping Josephine and Amelia's routines stable and helping me get back on my feet without the crushing weight of financial stress.
