Hi friends and family,
So Scott had surgery yesterday to remove the hardware from his wrist. Everything went as planned thankfully and he is now home resting and recovering from his 5th operation in less than 12 months! Our mom is there this week with Scott using her nursing skills caring for him and keeping him and his girls well-fed. Scott is somehow still able to keep his spirits high and manages to keep us laughing!
Laughter helps when there is not much you can do to control this situation.
The reality is the medical bills keep pouring in and his paychecks are not what they used to be as he has used up all his sick leave months ago. Some weeks he gets very little or no pay. To make matters much worse his company decided to drastically cut the yearly bonus, which he was counting on.
So Scott is relying on these donations from family and friends to get him through this hard time. We love him so much and really want to show up for him and let him know we are here by his side and will be here til the end! Please consider donating. Every little bit helps and share share share!

Hi Friends,
First, we want to say how very grateful we are for the love and support you have all been showing Scott! It means so very much and has been a huge help! As Summer is coming to a close we just wanted to send out an update on Scotty and honestly ask for more help. This has been a very hard year for him physically, financially and emotionally. Scott had hoped his surgery last month in August was going to be the LAST one but his orthopedic surgeon has now told him he will need to have another operation to remove all the hardware in his wrist. So, unfortunately, he will be having surgery #5 at the end of this month. He's missed a ton of work, as you can imagine, and the bills just keep coming.
And.... he will still need to have radioactive iodine which will mean even more missed work this Fall. Scott will see his cancer doctor next week so we should have more info then.
Please consider donating and share and keep sending Scott lots of LOVE!

Surgery went well and Scott is on his way home today. He will need to keep a drain in until Monday 8/5/24 and he will then be getting radioactive iodine treatment in the next few weeks.

Just a quick update, Scott is having surgery today 8/1/24. 3rd trip to the operating room for his thyroid in the past 9 months and 4th trip to the operating room including a broken wrist. So please send lots of love his way and donate if you can. Every little bit helps chip away at his mounting medical bills. So much love!!!

Scotty has had a rough past couple of months! resulting in over 20k in medical bills despite having insurance. After successfully undergoing thyroid cancer surgery this past winter, he was feeling good enough to go back on the skateboard. He endured an unfortunate fall resulting in a severely broken wrist needing extensive surgery and physical therapy. Then just this month when he went to his routine thyroid cancer screening, he was told the cancer was back and he will be undergoing surgery for the 3rd time on his neck, on August 2. Please share this, every little bit helps ease the financial burden!
2/12 LONG overdue UPDATE
BAD NEWS:
Sorry, it has been 2 months since our last update. Scott ended up having to have 2 operations, the 2nd one was on 12/23 and after that, there were problems with swelling and fluid accumulating even after the 2nd surgery so he had to get it drained a couple of times. To say the least, Christmas week was not the best for him.

Thankfully our whole family was in Utah the week after Christmas to help Scotty and make sure he was taking it easy. Being a single dad, he is not used to sitting still. We spent the week chilling out, playing card games, and just relaxing together.
BEST NEWS:
On 1/10 Scott had a post-op appointment with his endocrinologist and surgeon (on 1/12) they both felt they had gotten all the cancer out. They do not recommend any radiation or chemo which was AMAZING news!!! He will follow up in July with labs and an ultrasound to keep an eye on things.
TODAY is Scott's BIRTHDAY! As his medical bills keep rolling in please think about sending him a little $$$ lovin'! And share his great news!!!!
We are all so very GRATEFUL for all of you and the LOVE you are sending Scott's way!
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
12/14 UPDATE:
Updates from Scott’s Mom (Dotti) from Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah yesterday 12/14:
Scott had surgery to remove at least half of Thyroid. He had his ultrasound last week and they found a 2nd tumor on the R half of his Thyroid. They plan to remove the diseased portion of the thyroid. But things may change during the surgery.
And After Surgery 12/14:
Everything went as well as could be expected
He has a nice guillotine-looking gash across his neck. But that will heal nicely.
They were able to remove the R half of the Thyroid and found nothing to cause them concern.
He will be followed up by Endocrinology and Oncology at Huntsman.
The pathology reports are due back in a week or so and then we can really breathe easy!
Thanks all for the prayers and concern shown to Scott Lovelace and our entire family. It is truly appreciated. ♥️♥️♥️
12/8 Update:
Scott will have surgery next week to remove at least half of his Thyroid. We appreciate everyone’s ongoing support as he endures this trial and the related expenses. Please continue to share his GoFundMe. ♥️
11/6 Update:
First, we really are so very grateful for the love and support being showered down on Scotty! He is such an amazing loving dude (brother, dad, son & friend) Cancer is a hard thing to navigate and it really helps him to see all the love and kind thoughts sent his way!
Finally an update!!!! We didn't have any news til this past Friday when Scott met with his surgeon at the Huntsman Cancer Institute. His doctor said he will definitely need surgery to remove the mass and either part or all of his thyroid. But first, he needs another ultrasound to determine the size and if the mass is on both sides of the thyroid and to check the lymph nodes. So he should be getting the ultrasound this week or next week. The waiting is hard but we feel confident he has great doctors and a good treatment plan. We will post an update as we get new info. Please continue to send love to Scott and donate if possible and SHARE SHARE SHARE!

Hi, this is Scott's sisters, Christi, Bryce and Ashley. We are reaching out to all his friends and family. Scott was rushed to the University of Utah by ambulance on Sunday the 15th of October do to a large mass found in his throat. We are asking for donations to help support him and his (2) daughters during this hard time. At this moment Scott is still in the hospital under going treatment and waiting for biopsy results. We will update as info comes in. Please donate if you can and please share.
