Supporting Osuna

Donation protected
Hello everyone.

This is Susan Winter, and I'm requesting that you read this and consider making a donation. I've created this GoFundMe on behalf of my roommate, Jorge Osuna who has been dealing with serious medical challenges and has been unable to work since his return from his Mexico visit mid February. Many of you have reached asking how you can help. I'm creating the possibility of teamwork and support for him. The intention of this GoFundMe is to raise $5000+ for Osuna to help him cover his expenses until he can work again and and help out with the inevitable medical bills that will come.

Before sharing the details, I'd like to share with you all who Osuna is for me. He's been my roommate for over six years. He became my roommate through a mutual friend, Salomon Chavez, and he has been a huge blessing in my life and truly has become family. He is a good man who shows up for his family and friends. He reliably shows up for me and has literally saved me thousands of dollars in home repairs, and crisis interventions involving squirrels and rats. He keeps my yard beautiful and has built me a lovely patio. He is honest, trustworthy, and reliable. He's quick to help others, and now he's in need of some teamwork and $$$ support himself. I know Osuna has financially supported his family and friends over the years. He rarely asks for help, and he most certainly hasn't asked me for money. That said, I plan to help him out financially, but there's only so much I can do individually as an individual. As a graduate of the Team, Management, and Leadership Program, and am crystal clear on the power of teamwork.

Here's what's going on. Osuna returned from Mexico ill thinking he had the flu and a bladder infection. His condition continued to get worse. After being uncomfortable for several days, he went to a clinic. They told him they were too busy to see him that day and made him wait another 36 hours for an appointment. By now, he looked 2 months pregnant and was miserable. When they finally saw him 36 hours later, he had a fever from an infections, so they promptly sent him to an emergency care up the hill from Sumner, where they removed over a gallon of urine from his bladder.

The emergency room clinic sent him to MultiCare Auburn Medical Clinic in an ambulance. He was in the hospital for 3 days where they did some testing and managed his infection and started him on medication to decrease the swelling in his prostate. They didn't tell him that he could have died, but we know it was serious. They are not sure what has caused this swelling. He was sent home wearing a catheter which his urologist removed several days later. This unfortunately led to his bladder filling up again due to the blockage, and I took him back to the emergency room at Auburn MultiCare where they reinstalled the catheter. He cannot remove the catheter until he can urinate on his own. I cannot imagine how uncomfortable this must be. He has another urologist appt. March 29. In the meantime, he's resting and his abdominal pain has greatly decreased. We are hopeful that the medication will begin working soon, so he won't need the catheter.

Osuna does not have medical insurance. Fortunately, the Auburn MultiCare offered him some sort of emergency medical coverage while in the hospital. They told him that his hospital stay was covered. We don't know if the ambulance ride will be covered. Unfortunately, since the medical challenge is ongoing, he now needs to see medical doctors outside the hospital, and he will have to pay out of pocket without medical insurance. He is working with someone at the hospital to support him in this process. He applied and was approved for healthcare starting in April. He has already seen his general practitioner and urologist once.

That's all I know at this point. I wanted to get this going before all the bills start coming in. I know Osuna's family is helping out financially, and I think they can only help so much.

Thank you for reading this and considering making a donation. Together we can move mountains.
Feel free to forward this to other friends who may want to contribute.
Warmly,
Susan
