Supporting Nolan's Fight Against Ewing Sarcoma: Keaton's Plea for his Friend
Dear Friends, Family, and Community,
I am a 16-year-old sophomore at Borah High School, and I'm reaching out to you with a heavy heart and a plea for support. My friend, Nolan Hackney, has recently received devastating news that has shaken our entire community.
Just a few weeks ago, Nolan was sitting right next to me in our science and English classes, cracking jokes, and playing games. He was my go-to lunch buddy, and a typical teenager – full of life, wrestling, and playing baseball and all the activities that come with being a high schooler. But now, everything has changed.
Nolan has been diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of bone cancer. The tumor is on his right hip and femur and the treatment plan ahead is very difficult. Nolan is just now beginning the intensive chemotherapy treatments, keeping him in the hospital for 3 to 5 days at a time and this will continue for the next 10 weeks. Following this, he will undergo surgery and radiation, and then another 24 weeks of more chemotherapy.
Nolan comes from a family of four boys, with him being the third in the group. He's funny and is staying positive but this sucks and I want to help him. That is why I'm reaching out to all of you to fund raise for him and his family. Your contributions, whether big or small, will all go directly towards meals, medical expenses and anything Nolan needs to support him through this.
Please keep my friend in your thoughts and prayers as he battles this awful disease. Together we can make a difference and show Nolan and his family that they are not alone in this fight.
Thank you doesn't say it enough for your generosity and compassion,
Keaton and the Donat family
