Update on Nikki 1/3:

Nikki went into surgery at 7:00am this morning to receive her new liver.

As you can imagine, today is a lot for Thomas as he focus on learning Nikki’s after-care and being fully present in this moment. Please give them some space and grace right now.

They truly appreciate all the love and support and will call or text with updates as they’re able. Thank you for keeping Nikki in your thoughts and prayers.

Update: We are incredibly grateful to share that Nikki has officially been placed on the transplant list. Thank you all for the continued love, prayers, and support during this waiting period.

Our dear friend Nikki is currently at Stanford Hospital facing an incredibly difficult medical journey. She is battling serious metabolic-based liver and kidney disease and is now waiting to find out if she will officially be placed on the liver transplant list. We should have answers next week, but until then, she remains hospitalized under close care.

Her husband, Thomas, has not left her side. He is staying with her at Stanford, being her advocate, her strength, and her constant support through long days, uncertain news, and overwhelming emotions.

While they focus on what truly matters—Nikki’s health and survival—the reality is that this situation comes with an enormous financial burden. Medical expenses, housing away from home, lost income, travel costs, meals, and everyday bills don’t pause during a medical crisis.

Friends and family have stepped in to help however we can, including caring for their home and animals so Nikki and Thomas can focus fully on her treatment. But the road ahead is long, and the need is great.

We are asking for help to ease some of the financial stress so this family can put their energy where it belongs: on healing, hope, and getting Nikki the transplant she desperately needs.
