Supporting Nic’s Cancer Battle

Hi everyone

Not too long ago we found out the news that no family can bear to hear .

My wife’s beautiful mum Nicki, who many of you know and love, was diagnosed with advanced stomach cancer, and it has been an emotional journey for all thus far.

After weeks of tests and waiting we thought it was localised to the stomach, and a few weeks of chemo and surgery to remove the stomach would be a cure, but with no doubt some life changing challenges. However it was later found out that the cancer is advanced, and has spread to other areas in the gastro intestinal region.

Nic will start her long journey (beginning with 6-9 months) of two types of chemo every three weeks on Monday, and while she has been nothing but a pillar of strength and positivity thus far, having to leave her line of work of 32 years and face this is going to be an uphill battle in every sense and we want to do anything we can to help and alleviate any financial anxiety.

Nic is strong, and ready to fight this battle. She has spent her life helping others, as an amazing nurse both locally and working in rural and remote communities, and always putting her kids before anything. She has a long road ahead and we will be there every step of the way, but if we can raise some money to provide some relief from the stresses of todays cost of living so she can focus on getting well, I know it would mean the absolute world.

Nic has been my family since the day Brin and I got together, and she is one of the strongest people I know. She is the most selfless mother and the best nan there is and our biggest supporter.
