Recently, our dear friends the Da Cruz-Metwalli’s and Bennett’s lost their home in a tragic house fire.

On the evening of June 6th, Nicole Da Cruz and Shrif Metwalli’s family of four, consisting of a one-month-old baby and 3-year-old toddler, were alerted by a neighbour to a fire that began outside the home. Thankfully, they all made it out safely, but the fire destroyed their home, one vehicle and all their belongings.

Shervaughn and Shaun Bennett are friends and tenants of the home. Thankfully, they were out of town at the time of the fire but returned home to the loss of everything they own.

Anyone that knows these families know they’re not ones to ask for help, but have agreed that support from friends and family during this time would make a meaningful difference. We've started this GoFundMe to help bridge the gap while they get back on their feet. Funds will go directly towards things like clothing, food, household items, and temporary accommodations.

All contributions will be shared between the Da Cruz-Metwalli and Bennett families.
