Supporting Nick's recovery

Nick is a local community football coach for Eltham Junior Football Club, Under 9 division.

On a recent well-deserved family holiday, Nick suffered a severe stroke whilst on the plane to Darwin with his family. This resulted required many weeks in hospital in the Northern Territory, significant worry and great financial expense of his family, and subsequent transfer to a Melbourne Hospital. Unfortunately, the family also missed their much anticipated holiday. Nick is currently receiving treatment in a Melbourne rehabilitation hospital, with his current prognosis unclear.

Nick had given so much to our local community as a coach for Eltham Junior Football Club, coaching two seasons of under 9’s and always instilling excellent team spirit within the junior football teams. Nick is also a teacher, of which he currently cannot work, and has a young family.

As Nick's current prognosis is unknown, and his loving wife Rhiannon is providing significant caring responsibilities to their children and Nick, we would like to help the family financially in this time of difficulty. Nick has given so much to Junior Football, and this is a small way to say thank you and help provide resources to the family during his recovery. All funds will go directly to Nick and Rhiannon Tuffin to use as best needed for Nick's recovery.

This fundraiser has been organised by family friend, Anita Guyett and has the expressed consent of Rhiannon and Nick.

Rhiannon and Nick have had multiple offers of support for food drives/yard garden support, and other practical measures. However, due to Nick's long hospitalisation, family privacy, and likely home modifications needed to bring Nick home, we respectfully ask for a financial donation, as this is the most helpful and can be utilised easiest to support Nick's recovery.
