As some of you may know, Nick recently suffered a thalamic infarction stroke—a terrifying and heartbreaking time for all his friends and family. The stroke affected the central processing part of his brain, and due to its location, doctors have said the road to recovery will be long and uncertain.

Nick is currently in the medical ward, awaiting a bed in the rehabilitation unit. There, he will begin the difficult journey of learning to walk properly again, undergoing intensive therapy, and working to restore his cognitive function. He is also waiting on an appointment with a specialist ophthalmologist in Melbourne to determine if the vision loss he’s experiencing is due to nerve or muscle damage—and whether anything can be done to help.

On top of this already overwhelming situation, Nick and Tammey are also facing the added stress of needing to move house within the next three months. Coordinating a move during this time—while managing hospital stays, rehab, and medical appointments—is incredibly challenging both emotionally and financially.

Nick is unable to work during this critical time, and his wife, Tammey, wants nothing more than to be by his side every step of the way. We’re starting this GoFundMe to help ease the financial pressure—covering essential living costs, the upcoming move, travel to and from the hospital and appointments, and enabling Tammey to focus on supporting Nick without the burden of financial stress.

Anyone who knows Nick knows he’s the kind of guy who would give you the shirt off his back. This past week has been incredibly tough, and any help to provide financial stability during this time would mean the world to Nick and Tammey.
