Supporting Nick Newhouse on his Cancer Journey
Donation protected
Nick Newhouse, our director of operations and colleague, but more importantly our friend, and a member of our family needs us...
As many of you know, about a year ago Nick was diagnosed with a rare type of aggressive cancer called leiomyosarcoma. By the time the cancer was discovered, it was stage IV, having already spread to his liver, lungs, and spine.
Nick bravely faced aggressive treatment while continuing his unwavering support to our Mission and Overland Park Veterinary and Specialty hospitals. He developed a new management team, which dramatically improved our culture. He redesigned protocols for business operations from personnel, equipment acquisition, and our MVES expansion plan. He created a financial tool, with in-depth analytics we are using to identify opportunities to drive revenue and reduce costs. He has helped us acquire top talent, from ER doctors to specialists including an internist, neurologist, and oncologist. He’s also been integral in developing a pipeline of new talent with multiple training programs, internships, and mentorships. I could go on and on…
Friends, Nick has a difficult journey ahead and he needs to step away and focus on healing and spending time with his family. He has a beautiful six-year-old daughter, Claire and a devoted wife. Many of you know Heather, she’s been a part of the NVA (Ethos) family for years and currently serves as a field marketing manager supporting hospitals in groups 3, 5, and 14.
On a personal level, I feel like Nick was brought into our lives for a reason. So first and foremost, I ask for you to pray. Pray for complete healing for Nick so he can live a long life with his wife and daughter. Secondly, we are hoping to raise enough funds to take some of the burden off of him and his family and create more of a sense of ease as he approaches this inevitably challenging chapter in his life.
Donations will help support obvious needs such as prescriptions and medical bills as well as helping with household living expenses like, lawn mowing, childcare, groceries, and mortgage.
