Anyone who knows Nelson knows that he is a fun-loving guy that likes to have a good time. Nelson is always smiling , laughing, and talking to friends, family, and even strangers. His love for the St. Louis Blues is like no other. Nelson is blessed with the love of his life, Rachel, who is his lifelong Blues date and the opportunity to be a dad to her son, Jax.
Nelson started with abdominal pains in late February 2020. Throughout February-June, Nelson continued to have severe abdominal pain causing him to lose over 60 pounds. He visited numerous doctors, had test after test, liters of fluid removed from his body, and spent many nights in the hospital only to go home each time without any answers and still in agonizing pain. However, Nelson still went to work each day to provide for his family.
On June 10th, Nelson was diagnosed with metastatic malignant peritoneal mesothelioma. Nelson has a very extensive case. So extensive, that surgery will not be possible until the tumors shrink, which will take several rounds of chemotherapy. The chemotherapy leaves Nelson feeling weak and nauseous and on top of that his abdominal pain continues each day.

Nelson, Rachel, and Jax need our prayers, love, and support. Nelson needs to focus all of his energy on getting healthy and staying as positive as he can, and Rachel needs to focus on being Nelson’s rock (she has been amazingly strong and positive throughout this entire process).

Please consider making a monetary donation to help take the burden of medical bills and daily living expenses off of Nelson and Rachel, so they can focus on Nelson beating this cancer.
