Hi, my name is Natalie, and I am raising funds to support my partner Nat’s upcoming gender-affirming top surgery.

Nat is someone who brings so much care, support, and presence into the lives of the people around them. They consistently show up for their community and give to others, always finding a way to offer care, regardless of their own capacity.

Being able to support them through this next step feels incredibly important to me, and to the community they are part of.

While OHIP covers a portion of the surgical costs, Nat does not have any health coverage through work, and there are still approximately $10,000 in out-of-pocket expenses. This includes surgical fees not covered, as well as additional costs related to recovery, one month of unpaid time off work (there is zero paid coverage at Nat's job), and post-operative care.

Out-of-pocket surgical costs: $7119

Unpaid time off work: $1600-2000

Living expenses (rent, food, post-op care, meds): $1000

Top surgery is a deeply affirming step for Nat. It’s about feeling more at home in their body, and being able to move through the world with greater comfort and confidence.
