Supporting Nate's Fight Against Stage 4 Cancer
Donation protected
We come to you to ask for your support as we rally around our friend Nate Hoelzel, who is currently hospitalized at Howard Young in Minocqua battling stage 4 colorectal cancer and Blastomycosis. The weight of what he is battling is heavy, and we need all hands on deck to lift Nate and his family during this time.
Nate's Story:
In December 2022, Nate received a life-altering diagnosis of stage 4 colorectal cancer with metastasis to the liver. Despite undergoing local chemotherapy, the treatment did not provide the desired results. In September 2023, Nate then entered into a clinical trial at UW Madison, with the hopes of finding innovative solutions for his condition.
The journey up until now has been far from straightforward. Nate has experienced numerous hospitalizations for sepsis and surgeries, both in Wausau and Madison. A complicating factor was brought to Nate’s attention when he fell even more ill in this past November with suspected pneumonia, which recently revealed itself as a severe case of Blastomycosis. This unexpected development has added another layer of complexity to Nate's already challenging health battle.
Due to a series of infections and setbacks, the clinical trial has been interrupted, making it uncertain whether it can be resumed at all. Nate is now undergoing Blastomycosis treatments, which are anticipated to last for an extended period, ranging from 6 to 12 months.
We understand that times are tough for everyone, but we believe that small acts of kindness can collectively make a significant impact. Every donation, no matter how small, will contribute to easing the financial burden that comes with extensive medical treatments, hospital stays, and other associated costs.
Your support will not only assist Nate in his fight against colorectal cancer and Blastomycosis but will also provide relief to his family, wife Nicole, and children Hank (11) and Hadley (9), during this challenging time. Your generosity will make a difference in Nate's life, helping him focus on what truly matters – his health and well-being.
