Where do I begin....
After a stressful 2018 with many unfortunate events and changes in her life, Natalia spent New Year’s Day laying on the beach with her favourite coffee, soaking up the sunshine, and enjoying the fresh sea air to clear her mind and prepare for a better upcoming year. Little did we know, the information we’d receive later that week was going to change her life completely.
Natalia hadn’t been feeling well for a few months. Constant fatigue, migraines, night sweats, feeling depressed, severe shortness of breath and neck lumps that appeared on Christmas Eve and kept multiplying and growing in size over the week. Natalia didn't think much of it and put it down to recent events, work, and the Christmas blues without family around. Finally Natalia decided to see the doctor again for routine blood work, scans for the lumps in her neck, and chest x-rays to be able to clear her head and get on with life. All of this showed fluid completely covering her right lung, confirmed cancerous lumps on her neck and a 17cm mass in her chest.
On the 4th January 2019 Natalia got the devestating diagnosis that she has Hodgkins Lymphoma. Nothing could prepare her for those words from the doctor. Her life had been turned upside down in an instant. Natalia is 28 years young with her whole life ahead of her and just wanted to start off the New Year being able to enjoy life again.
A message from Natalia ❤
"I realise the next year will be the most difficult of my life, but I can only take each day as it comes and keep my soul the way it's always been- strong, lighthearted, sarcastic as anything, and always pushing through the storms. Throw in the occasional inappropriate joke or two and with all of that, I can not and will not fail".
Natalia has so much love and support around her, but if we can help out in any small way to take the financial pressure off her it would mean the world. My goal would be to raise enough money for her rent, groceries, and ongoing medical costs for a year since it is all an out of pocket expense being an international resident in Australia. $30,000 is my goal. Your love, support and generosity will help make a difference.
If you would like to to read more about Natalia's journey, then please go to her
blog and feel free to share as well. If nothing else, Natalia hopes she can reach at least one person that’s going through something similar or have a family member going through this and give them a different outlook that will hopefully make everyone smile :)
