Nadine's Road to Recovery: A Story of Resilience and a Plea for Support
Our family is facing a challenging time, and we're reaching out to our community for help. My wife, Nadine, has endured multiple setbacks this year due to unforeseen accidents, and we're now facing mounting medical expenses that threaten to overwhelm us.
Nadine's journey began with two serious falls in 2023, both requiring emergency services. The second fall resulted in a critical hospital stay with months of intensive care. Just as she was regaining strength and preparing to return home, another devastating blow struck. During a medical transport in January 2024, the driver's negligence caused Nadine to fall from her wheelchair, resulting in multiple fractured vertebrae. For the past three months, Nadine has been hospitalized again, undergoing further treatment and physical therapy. While her determination remains strong, she still requires assistance to stand and move independently.
Unfortunately, our insurance has decided to stop covering Nadine’s inpatient care related to the transport incident. We are now facing the daunting task of managing her care at home without the necessary equipment. While we are pursuing legal action against the transport company, the process is slow and the outcome uncertain. The financial burden of Nadine's care has become immense, and we've exhausted our options. That's why we're reaching out to you, our friends, family, and community, for support. We've created a GoFundMe campaign to help us acquire essential equipment that will allow Nadine to regain her independence and continue her recovery at home.
HERE'S HOW YOU CAN HELP:
DONATE!
Any amount, no matter how small, will make a difference. Your contributions will go towards acquiring an adjustable hospital bed, a Hoyer lift for safe transfers, and a sit-to-stand lift for independent movement.
SHARE!
Please share our story and GoFundMe campaign with your network. Every share increases our reach and brings us closer to our goal of $10,000.
We understand that times are tough for many, and we are incredibly grateful for any support you can offer. Your generosity will directly impact Nadine's recovery and help us navigate this challenging chapter in our lives.
With heartfelt appreciation,
Brice and Nadine Duffy, and the entire Duffy family.
