Hi friends and family,

I never imagined needing to write something like this, but the last several days have brought an unexpected and overwhelming medical emergency for my parents while we were traveling.

What began as a family trip quickly turned into a crisis. My mother became severely ill and required emergency medical care. While advocating to get her safely back to the United States, she experienced escalating abdominal pain that led to hospitalization. She is currently being treated for a serious intestinal obstruction and has required intensive medical intervention.

During this same hospital visit, my father collapsed in the emergency department and was admitted as well. Thankfully, life-threatening causes were ruled out, but he has been battling multiple viral infections that caused him to lose consciousness.

Both of my parents are now hospitalized far from home. My children and husband had to return home. I have remained behind to support my parents while navigating medical decisions, hospital coordination, and daily expenses. The cost of emergency care, extended hospitalization, medications, and lodging has already become significant, and I am currently booking accommodations while we wait to understand next steps.
