This week has been one of the hardest our family has faced.

My dad has a long history of heart issues and is currently in the process of applying for disability. He has been unable to work, and things were already tight as we waited for approval.

On Tuesday, everything escalated. My mom was admitted to the hospital with serious breathing concerns. She was diagnosed with pneumonia and had dangerously low oxygen levels. She spent six days in the hospital on oxygen, fighting to stabilize.

While she was hospitalized, we were hit with a winter storm. The water in their home froze, causing a pipe to burst and significant water damage. In the middle of managing that crisis, my dad ended up in the emergency room himself and was diagnosed with the flu.

Within one week:

• Mom hospitalized with pneumonia and oxygen dependency

• Dad in the ER with the flu

• Ongoing heart issues and disability process

• Frozen pipes and home damage

• No steady income coming in

It has been overwhelming, physically, emotionally, and financially.

Right now, we are asking for help to cover:

Household bills and utilities

Groceries and daily living expenses

Medical copays and prescriptions

Home repair costs from the broken pipe

Our goal is to raise $5,000 to help stabilize them over the next 30 days while Mom continues to recover and Dad works through the disability approval process.
