My 17-year-old nephew was recently diagnosed with high-risk Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). His family is beginning the long battle which will last the next three years. He was a thriving, typical 17-year-old until his teacher noticed his color was pale and greenish. He went to urgent care and within hours was on a medevac from Juneau, Alaska to Seattle Children's Hospital with his dad (Randy). His mom (Mariah) facing her own medical battles, was in Tucson, AZ, and unable to be by his side.
