In 2016, my mom’s life changed forever when she was diagnosed with lung and heart disease caused by her Rheumatoid Arthritis. Her journey has been one of incredible strength and resilience, and in 2020, she received a life-saving double lung transplant. That transplant gave us years we never thought we’d have, and I am endlessly grateful for the time I’ve been able to have with her.

Everything took a drastic turn on September 27th, 2024 when my mom woke up gasping for air and was rushed to the emergency room as she was turning gray. She then woke up after passing out as they were cutting off all her clothes and to see she was connected to a CPAP machine forcing her airways open. Since this day, she has been hospitalized six times, facing drug induced pancreatitis, COVID, lung infections, and pneumonia. These complications have severely impacted her quality of life, leaving her unable to work in the way she once did and increasing her reliance on medical care.

To continue her fight, my mom urgently needs:

A $3,000 oxygen machine to help her breathe safely and comfortably.

A $1,000 vest airway system to clear her lungs and prevent further infections.

As her daughter, in the last few months I’ve taken on a larger role as her caregiver, and while it’s been an emotional and financial challenge, I wouldn’t have it anyother way. I would do anything for more time with my mom and I will do everything possible to give her more time and the best quality of life possible, despite all her medical challenges.

The funds raised will go directly toward these critical medical devices, ongoing treatments, past due medical bills (as past ambulance rides add up) and easing the financial strain of her care.
