Update:
When I first created this GoFundMe, it was based on a medical recommendation that my mom would need a hysterectomy due to concerning findings. Since then, she has received a second opinion, and the approach has changed for now. Instead of proceeding immediately with surgery, the specialist has begun treatment, including addressing lesions and starting medication, and plans to closely monitor her condition before determining the next steps.
This does not mean the issue has been resolved. She is still dealing with ongoing medical concerns and will continue to require evaluation, follow-ups, and potentially further treatment depending on how things progress. But because the immediate plan for surgery has changed, I will be turning off donations at this time.
Although we did not reach our original goal, we are incredibly grateful for everyone who donated, shared, and supported us. Your help has made a real difference during a very difficult and uncertain time for my mom.
She has also finally secured an appointment with a gynecologist here in the states after MONTHS of waiting, and we are continuing to seek additional medical opinions to ensure she receives the appropriate care moving forward.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
Og post: I’m creating this fundraiser for my mom, she doesn’t like asking for help, but right now she truly needs it.
She’s one of the kindest, most giving people I know, if you've had the pleasure of meeting her you would know it true. Even at her lowest, she gives her all.
Over a year ago, while visiting her parents in Mexico, she desperately sought out a specialist there since her symptoms were worsening and she wasn't getting any answers here. (She goes to annual checkups and sees doctors regularly, has had very invasive procedures done but this issue has somehow gone undiagnosed despite her diligence.)
The results were alarming and a hysterectomy is the only way to keep this from escalating into something cancerous. When she returned and explained what she’d learned to her doctors, she was essentially dismissed and told that they were probably wrong. They said they would schedule her with a specialist, but it’s been months, and no appointment has been scheduled to this day.
She's been putting it off due to costs as well as putting everyone else's needs before her own.
Right now, she happens to be in Mexico grieving her father’s passing, and her symptoms are resurfacing, making it clear she cannot put off treatment any longer.
I’m asking for $6,000 to give her a little financial help with the surgery.
I know times are tough right now but any support, donation or simply sharing means the world to us and help her get the care she urgently needs.
Thank you so much.
