My daughter began her studies last year at the University of Maine and loved her time there. Unfortunately, with both of us now in university—she back in Canada and me starting my own studies—I can no longer afford the costs of her U.S. tuition and living expenses.

We had arranged for her apartment near campus, but when plans changed, I asked to cancel the lease back in June. I was told it was cancelled, but now the apartment company is still holding her to the agreement. We've tried everything but she’s stuck paying for a year-long lease for a room she can’t even live in, and subletting is nearly impossible since the company undercuts the rent.

This unexpected financial burden has become overwhelming for us. I’m asking for help to cover the lease costs so that my daughter can focus on her studies here at home, without this stress hanging over her.
