We never imagine that someone so strong, so constant, and so full of life could suddenly be facing the fight of their life. My dad has always been the one who shows up — the fixer, the provider, the quiet strength behind our family. Today, he’s facing an unimaginable challenge: stage 4 colon cancer that has spread throughout his body
.
This diagnosis has turned our world upside down. Along with the emotional toll, it has brought overwhelming medical treatments, appointments, and expenses that no family is ever truly prepared for. Despite it all, my dad continues to face each day with courage, grace, and a determination to keep fighting until God decides it’s his time to go home.
my dad and I always watched Stuart Scott and going through this made me think back on Stuart’s speech at the ESPY’S. Stuart said, “When you die, that does not mean that you lose to cancer. You beat cancer by how you live, why you live and in the manner in which you live. So, live. Live. Fight like hell. And when you get too tired to fight then lay down and rest and let somebody else fight for you.” This is where we take up the fight for my dad.
While I know times are hard for everyone, I’m asking all of you to help if you can. This is our way of rallying around him — to help ease the financial burden, allow him to focus on comfort, and remind him that he is not fighting this battle alone. Any support, whether through donations, sharing, or prayers, means more than words can express.
