Supporting Ms. Kim During Her Courageous Fight!

Hello everyone! Ms. Kim Kooker is a beloved staff member at The University Child Care Center. She has worked here for over 10 years and been in childcare for over 35 years! Ms. Kim is currently an infant teacher in the Chickadees classroom but has worked with all age groups in multiple classrooms across the center throughout the years. Ms. Kim is well known and well loved and has dedicated her life to the care of children. On August 11th, 2021, Ms. Kim was diagnosed with breast cancer. Three weeks later, Ms. Kim began chemotherapy treatments and was scheduled to have them every 2 weeks for 2 months and then every week for another 12 weeks (until January, 2022). In January, she will have a surgical procedure to remove the remaining cancerous mass and then she will begin her 12 weeks of radiation therapy (until March, 2022). Due to the weakening of her immune system coupled with the difficulty of chemo treatments, Ms. Kim has been unable to continue working full time here at the center. We here at The University Child Care Center want to support her in any way possible and help take as much stress off of her as we can during this difficult time. Aside from love, sympathy and encouragement we also want to ask for support for Kim financially so that she can be home resting and staying well without worrying about having to work to provide for herself. This fundraiser is to help support Ms. Kim with her bills, food, gas, medication, etc. Whatever you can donate is greatly appreciated. We are also welcoming donations in the form of physical goods such as groceries, gift cards, cooked meals, etc. Dealing with a serious disease such as cancer is difficult physically, emotionally, and mentally and we are going to be supporting Ms. Kim every step of the way until she beats this disease!! We are thankful to be apart of such a large, loving and supportive family here at The University Child Care Center and appreciate all you have done and continue to do.
